STARBUCKS RED VELVET CUPCAKE
I love Starbucks and am first to try all their sweets. Even when I’m not in the mood to have sweets, I try them anyway out of curiosity. And who can say no to cupcakes starring at you, calling your name? They have three flavors, chocolate, vanilla bean, and red velvet. I tried the chocolate cupcake before and it was good, but I have yet to try the vanilla bean. So I was guessing the red velvet would be just as tasty, if not better.
Jennifer Rose and I split it, as usual when one of us doesn’t want to eat the whole thing! Her face showed it all but we thought it was cause she was drinking something sweet, it interfered. When I tried my half, the same thing happened. It really doesn’t taste like red velvet cake. I’m hoping it was just that batch of cupcakes because I would be really disappointed in Starbucks if all the red velvet cupcakes tasted like cardboard. If you guys taste it, and it’s better please let us know!
I would definitely get the chocolate cupcake again and cannot wait to try the vanilla bean!

I love red velvet cake. But it must be done right. Oh well.
Totally agree! One day, I was excited to see I could do latte & cupcake in one stop so I tried the red velvet cupcakes at Starbucks too. It is sooo not red velvet. It tasted like nothing – perhaps, cardboard as you said. The icing wasn’t cream cheese flavored either. In fact, I don’t even think it was a vanilla frosting. I have no idea what recipe they are using but they need to get rid of it.

I must share – I just found out that Starbucks carries Cheesecake Factory brand cupcakes, which they sell a mini version at Costco and Sam’s Club called iCakes. They are in the frozen section and are 30 for $10! Anyway, thought I would share the love. (The red velvet and vanilla are awesome. I didn’t try the chocolate.)
