When I was contacted by Beautisol to try the self tanner I laughed at first because I didn’t think I needed a tan.  I went to their website and saw the two shades, Summers Glow and All Seasons Glow, and got worried because I didn’t want to look abnormal!  After I spoke with their representative she assured me the right shade to try.

The package came with the self tanning lotion Summer Glow, Go Slough Yourself , an instructional DVD, a pair of application gloves, and STARBURST! The first thing I did was pump the bottle to see what color the lotion was.  Then I watched the instructional DVD.

I loved the DVD!  It is very helpful, especially for someone who has no experience tanning.  The Self Tan Queen, Sinead Norenius, shows how to apply the tanning lotion onto every part of your body.  Usually with stuff like this I like to do it first but with tanning you want to follow the rules before you turn out looking darker in some areas and streaked in others.

I took my shower and used the Go Slough Yourself face and body scrub, which I love and will have it’s own review coming soon!  I applied regular lotion all over my body, put on the gloves (that have to be super tight), then started tanning away.

I wanted to try it on my legs first and then do everything else another time because I had a lunch date and that’s not the kind of thing you want to experiment with the night before a date!  But I couldn’t help myself, it was actually fun to do.

It smells like perfume, not chemicals!  They balance technology and fragrance molecules to reduce the nasty odor.  It’s called Smell Right Technology, read more here.  It felt almost like I am applying milk chocolate lotion all over my body, delish!

Really watch the DVD because you have to remember how many pumps to put on what body part.  I forgot how much to put on my face so after I tried it the first time, I looked a little too dark.  I had to rinse my face, then try again, this time using half of what I used the first time.  It’s all trial and error, just don’t wait to rinse off if you feel you put too much the first time.

The end result was an amazing tan.  I looked kissed by the sun, odorless and last a few days! I didn’t pay much attention to my ankles during the process so they weren’t blended properly and I ended up with extra tanner on spots around my ankle.  It dries quickly and it’s safe to go to bed.  You cant rinse off right away.  The Self Tan Queen suggest holding off and just lightly rinse the next day and pat dry softly in order to make the most of your tan.
