GO SLOUGH YOURSELF

Yes I said it, Go Slough Yourself!  It’s a face and body scrub from Beautisol, soon to be called Beautisol Skin Care, (www.Beautisol.com as of April 15, 2010).  I tried it when they sent over their Summer Glow self tanning system for me to try and review.  I usually dont scrub my face in the shower, my face is a whole other process, but this time I did.

It’s used to scrub your body before you apply the self tan but you can use it even if you don’t plan on tanning afterwards.  I also like that it doubles as a body scrub and a face scrub.  A lot of the ones I see only do one or they smell too much like body wash for me to use on my face.  Go Slough Yourself smells yummy like and not too strong.  I wasn’t afraid to use it on my face.

I remember when I was 17 I got a microdermabrasion and a chemical peal.  I wasn’t well informed and talked into doing both, it was something I didn’t need at such an early age, thank God I didn’t end up scared or anything.  Go Slough Yourself reminded me of the same soft smooth feeling I had days after the procedure, not right away of course.  Its suggested use is once or twice a week.

GOOD STUFF:

Salicylic Acid: Promotes cell renewal through chemical exfoliation. It gently breaks down the body’s natural glue that holds old skin cells to new ones. On your face it helps alleviate blackheads, whiteheads, and pustular or cystic breakouts.

Diatomaceous Earth: These little scrubby beads provide physical exfoliating benefits. They slough away dead skin, and reveal your glowing, soft skin below.

Passiflora Laurifolia (Passionflower) Flower Extract: An antioxidant, moisturizing and anti-inflammatory ingredient that promotes skin rejuvenation and anti-aging benefits.

Tocopheryl Acetate (D-alpha): An oil soluble Vitamin E that is considered an antioxidant superstar! It protects and helps repair the skin from oxidative stress including photo damage (sun damage)

Paraben-Free, Propylene Glycol-Free, and Cruelty-Free: This formula is only tested on humans — pasty humans of course!

Does Not Contain Sodium Laureth/Lauryl Sulfate

Gentle enough for the face? Sounds interesting. I like all the ingredients. But I have sensitive skin on my face. What’s the price range?

My skin isn’t so sensitive but maybe you can try it on a small spot first. The price is $19 when you buy the scrub alone and it is included in the tanning system package($39).
