Anyone else obsessed with numbers like I am?  Trying Verizon wireless FitBit didn’t really help my mild OCD.  To be honest, I wasn’t even sure I would remember to use it as much as I did.  It brought back memories of those old step counters.  To my surprise the FitBit did more than that.

I love this little FitBit Zip because it reminds me of myself – small but mighty.  Not only is it a pedometer but it also counts distance walked and calories burned, and automatically syncs to my Fitbit profile on my computer and FitBit app downloaded to my iPhone and iPad (via bluetooth).  Every morning it’s set to 0, except for the calories burned while sleeping.

I think I almost always kept it on because it measured distance and calories burned.  I don’t care how many steps I take unless I know how that translates to distance and burned calories.  I set goals for myself and loved getting messages in my inbox once I reached them.  Now, while FitBit profile does tell you how many calories to eat per day to reach a weight loss goal, it does not give you a suggested meal plan.  Which, in my opinion, would have been the icing on the cake.  It comes in four colors, charcoal, green, midnight blue, and magenta.

I love Poshmark.  It is an app available for iPad and iPhone allowing you to shop, sell, and engage with virtual closets full of pre-worn or new pieces on one simple and fun platform. I’ve been re-selling items from my closet on eBay since my early college days when I needed dolla’ dolla’ bills for books and well...to buy more stuff, which was usually from eBay as well. Learning how to find alternative ways to make money was my thing, and still is.

However, over time eBay just wasn’t working for me.  With all of the amazing new re-selling sites/platforms allowing me to re-sell items faster with less hassle and bidding wars, I finally quit selling on eBay completely.  And here comes Poshmark.   A few months ago, I started seeing all these tweets about this app.  I decided to sign us up, and worked with the brand to host a couple of parties.  Well, I’ve fallen in love. This is probably one of my favorite apps, and here’s why:

• Engagement – Users can easily negotiate and give/receive immediate feedback on items.
• Allows flexible pricing – The pricing can be easily modified any time.
• Great for small business owners – Our totes sell like hot cakes on the app compared to any of our other retailers, so this is a great app to help expand our customer base and gain exposure at a quicker pace.
• Hosted parties by fashion and beauty experts – Best to shop host picks rather than looking through the feed, as it’s a better curated selection.  And I’m not just saying this because we are hosts ourselves.
• So ridiculously easy to list items – You can literally do it while standing in line at the grocery store.
• Shipping protocol - It’s simply wonderful,  and paid for you.  Once an item sells, you’re sent a shipping label.  Print it out, and drop off at USPS. (this is apart of the 20% commission PM takes, which I think is reasonable)

Don’t you feel a little naked without nail polish?  It’s almost like the same feeling of not having your cell phone.  This week we’re sharing two of our fave American Apparel nail lacquers.  Both shades are great to carry us from the end of spring and into summer.  While Jennifer jets off to Palm Springs, I’m stuck in Office.

Jennifer on Nail Lacquer in Palm Springs: They’re long-lasting, they’re inexpensive, and are DBP, toluene and formaldehyde-free – you just can’t go wrong.  They sell a wide-variety of shades, and this pale peach color is a must have for Spring!  I’m just absolutely in love, and it’s truly beautiful on any skin tone.

Rahiel on Nail Lacquer in Office: I couldn’t deny it!  I didn’t even try it first, it was love at first sight.  It POPS with color and all my friends love it.  I like that it goes on thick.  If you do it right the first time, you may only need one coat. I didn’t have to give every nail a second coat, only a few that I didn’t lay it on right the first time.  I also noticed it dries pretty quickly.

I take every opportunity to show a little skin.  Enough to showcase my sexy side.  When a friend of ours invited me to see  the Linden runway show, during L.A. Fashion Week, I agreed to go and take a look at the line.  Naturally, I browsed the Linden website after the show.  When the designers wanted to gift me an item, I couldn’t resist asking for the Lace Panel leggings!

These leggings ($75) are not for the shy or timid!  I love how the lace panels go all the way up – making it pretty much impossible to wear panties.  It really does look better without underwear.  I found the trick to pulling this look off in a classy way is to pair it with a top that hits right at the hips covering the butt – peplums are a perfect example.  I also love that I can dress these sexy leggings down for a more edgy look with a loose fitting, off the shoulder tee and sneaker wedges.

Now, I probably wouldn’t wear this at night unless I am with a man who can protect me from all of the inappropriate douche bags that dwell in L.A.  I do wish the hem was a bit more fitted.  And it’s a little too loose for my taste, so I’ll have to get it tailored.  Other than that, it’s the perfect sexy summer legging!

At this point, Rahiel and I could probably open a beachwear boutique with the amount of swimwear and cover ups spilling out of our drawers.  A little after the new year, I took a trip to San Diego and on my way back to L.A., I stopped at South Coast Plaza.  Naturally, I popped in at Everything But Water, and the Laundry by Shelli Segal Capri Eyelet bikini ($116) caught my attention.

Green is my favorite color, so I immediately gravitated toward the Sardinia (also in White, Black, and Capri Berry), and imagined all the beautiful beaches and pools where I could rock this.  I was lucky enough to have the brand send it over, and wore it two Fridays ago to celebrate Rahiel’s birthday poolside at The London.  This bikini is seriously one of the prettiest yet comfortable string bikinis I own.  I never really reference the word, “comfy” when I describe any piece of swimwear, but in this case, it’s fitting.

This suit is 69% cotton and 31% nylon. Not your usual fabric content for a bathing suit, therefore I stayed out of the water.  The detailing of the eyelet lace is beautiful over a white lining (100% polyester) allowing the design to pop.  Also included are  removable triangle cups in the top. I briefly mentioned in our last Friday Faves video about my favorite hair conditioner. Well, here it is! As a side note: Our videos are on hiatus for a while until we can get our ish together. We want to give you all top notch videos, so stay tuned.  Now, back to the condish.  While I obviously sport my hair curly, and Rahiel typically goes for the blown out and straight look, we wanted to share our faves with you!

Jennifer:  I’ve tried several conditioners throughout the years, however I ALWAYS go back to Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship conditioner ($5.99) . It never fails. I use it as a leave-in and my curls are in-tact for several days. It has the perfect slip, smells amazing, curls are soft,  and includes keratin for protection.  I stock up every time I’m in Target, because I hate when I’m at the end of the bottle and only half of my head is conditioned, and I have to cheat with a substitute.  This has been a five year romance and the candle still burns!

Rahiel:  I’ll admit I am a slave to the hair salon and have become accustomed to a stylist washing my hair.  Nothing beats a nice scalp massage from someone else!  However, for those times that I do wash my own mane, I reach for Nioxin System 5.  I’ve been using the system a little over a year now and I do notice my hair has more body and looks thicker.  When I get my hair styled I still have straight and shiny hair but it’s fuller now.  It helps provide hair resilience and control moisture balance.  While I haven’t used the conditioner as a leave-in yet, it’s something I’m willing to try because the texture is creamy enough to hold my curls.

Here’s the deal with our nails.  I typically like to do my own at-home manicures and Rahiel prefers Bellacures, however we both usually end up in a hurry and swapping colors every three or four days.  With numerous events a week and running all over the place, nails chip faster and we must have our nails on-point at all times. Clearly this leaves us with little time to pull of a complete manicure.  Enter my excitement for Sally Hansen’s Complete Salon Manicure nail polish ($7.99).

This nail polish claims to provide seven benefits of a salon manicure in one bottle with 10 day wear: base coat, strengthener, growth treatment, salon-inspired color, top coat, chip-resistance and a gel finish.  I had high hopes for this polish and was very grateful to the brand for sending over a few samples.  But unfortunately, I didn’t reap these benefits.  Here’s what I love and didn’t love so much from the Complete Salon Manicure. The precision brush is amazing and I wish every brand created their brushes this way. It’s angled to match the shape of the nail, and wide enough to cover the entire nail.  Simply wonderful.  The color selection is also great with complete coverage.

I am supposed to get away with only two coats of lacquer, and I’m good to go. However, I just couldn’t get away without using a base and top coat. It only lasted me a few days before the chipping reared its ugly head.  The color also dulled too quickly.  Alas, I still love the selection of colors and will continue to use them by only applying one coat along with a top and base.

Sometimes I prefer taking shots because it gets the job done quickly!  Same thinking applies to another form of energy, you know, the sober kind.  I stopped drinking energy drinks years ago.  I’ve tried the B-12 pills.  I drink coffee so much that I think my body has stopped feeling the effects of the caffeine.  I received the Celestial Seasonings Enerji Green Tea Energy Shot  in a gift bag and wasn’t sure if I would drink it.  But, as my luck would have it, I had to wake up one early Saturday morning.  When I got home I was wiped out and decided to give the Enerji shot a try.

Celestial Seasonings launched Enerji green tea energy shots end of 2012.  They come in three flavors, Citrus, Berry and Pomegranate Xtreme (with more caffeine and B-vitamins than regular ENERJI shots).  The one I tried was pomegranate Xtreme.  I’ll admit the flavor was alright.  I was able to drink it down and actually got use to the taste after the first two swigs.  I drank it after waking up from a nap and feeling groggy.  I did feel my energy increase, because normally I’d be ready to go right back to sleep!

I love that it’s full of all-natural caffeine, Gluten free, vegan, and Kosher certified.  Besides the scary packaging, my problem with most energy shots are the ingredients.  I like to know exactly what’s going into my body.  I feel safe drinking the Enerji green tea shot.  I won’t make it a daily habit but I will have it handy as back up!
