GET GLAM WITH NP SET
I am a fan of makeup sets, for the simple fact that everything is in one place. I hate trying to find the perfect taupe shimmer that compliments the gold dust eyeshadow I want to wear. It’s easier if your whole face, is on one pallet. I was more than happy when Target Beauty sent me, among other things, NP Set Glam set ($24).
Usually I do not like the lip shades that are included in makeup sets. I prefer eyeshadow sets, but every once in a while I get a little surprise. In this case, I was in a rush and needed to add some color to my lips quickly! The NP Set was right in front of me so I dipped my little finger into the rose-hued gloss. It took quit a few swipes until I finally got some color to show. I should have used a lip brush but I was happy with the outcome – just bitten lips. It was not as shiny as the description says, but it can be if I apply more. It did keep my lips moist, which is always a plus.
I love that the eyeshadow shades are not too intense. In the day I applied the champagne shadow and then I layered the chocolate shade for a smoky look during the evening. My everyday blush is a color in between the two rust and peach shades included in this set. The rust shade made me pause for a second but blending is KEY with this color. Adding a light layer of the peach on top of the rust doesn’t look bad either! Now, if only I could get the lip glosses in a separate pallet to fit in my purse.
Pros: Beautiful shades (some unexpected), simple and sufficient
Cons: No application tools
