RUNNING IS CHEAPER THAN THERAPY

10 July 2012

spiledlittlelagirls ideology RUNNING IS CHEAPER THAN THERAPYAt least four days a week, I bribe myself into waking up an hour earlier than I’d like to by visualizing  Adriana Lima’s rocking body.   I like to stay active to stay sane, and “Running is cheaper than therapy” is my favorite running quote right now (see Pinterest). However, as you all know when working out four days a week, you need a whole closet full of activewear.

I was thrilled when GigaSavvy reached out to us for a chance to check out some of Macy’s activewear for women.

Instead of going straight for Nike, I decided to try out the Ideology Skinny-Leg Yoga shorts ($26.99).  With summer here, shorts are a must and preferably  for both running and yoga – my workouts of choice.   As soon as these shorts came in the mail, I went for a run in them the next day.

The size small was perfect, and even had a little built-in mini pocket on the inside to hold a key, if needed (not mentioned on the site).  It’s 87% cotton/13% spandex allowing my body to keep cool while working out.  My favorite part of these shorts is the pink 4-way stretch band.  I moved easily and didn’t have to worry about them falling off my derriere, as do most bottoms with this sort of waistband.  They stayed put the whole time.  And if you’re a hardcore runner, the flat seams will help minimize chafing.  I’d definitely purchase more of these shorts.  Nike who?

Pros: Great fit; holds up during performance; good looking
Cons: Wish they were available in more colors!
